5 of the Best Greenhouses and Garden Centers in Central Ohio
Spring has officially arrived and gardening season is quickly approaching!
Although we may have to wait a little longer until the last frost of the season, it’s never too early to start planning your garden. If you’re like me, you may find the process a little overwhelming, but fortunately central Ohio has plenty of great greenhouses with gardening experts to help you, whether you’re planning a small container garden or tilling your own backyard.
I asked NBC4 viewers about their favorite greenhouses and garden centers in central Ohio, and here’s what they said:
Strader Garden Centers

Strader’s Garden Centers began more than 60 years ago at their King Avenue location. Now, they have six retail locations and two wholesale divisions throughout central Ohio. Hoover Gardens and Gift Center
Where: 182 S. Sunbury Road, Westerville
Located on Sunbury Road in Westerville, Hoover Gardens is the place to go for your plant care, gardening, nursery and pond needs. The center offers classes on everything from Herb Gardening 101 to Container Gardening with Veggies and identifying good bugs and bad bugs. The gift center also includes a wide range of garden and home decor.
De Money greenhouse
Where: 2500 Airport Road, Columbus
Located just off Interstate 670 on Airport Drive, deMonye’s is a one-stop shop for annuals, herbs, perennials, shrubs, vegetables and more. They even offer custom potting and classes for those who want to learn more about gardening.
