An easy amaryllis recipe for warm winter color

When indoor plants create a need to restructure living spaces, that likely means Plant Addicts Anonymous meetings are in order. At last count I had 19 different types of amaryllis and am considering ways to install glass shelves across two windows.

I like to think of myself as someone who appreciates the delicacy of texture and varied shades of green, but the truth is that I admire the large, often showy, blooms on these easy-to-grow bulbs, especially when manipulated to fill the bulbs. A house painted deep red or bright pink during the gray days of mid-winter. Others offer a more graceful beauty, with pearly petals lightly tinted with warm peach, others with moonlight-coloured flowers centered with pale green throats.
