The beloved star, 54, was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Saturday, and tributes have been pouring in from celebrities and fans alike from around the world.

One of the notes left in the New York tribute reads: “Thank you for being our friend.”
“You are much loved and will be missed for many generations.”
In his memoirs, Matthew Perry spoke briefly about how he would like to be remembered after his death.
“When I die, I know people will talk about friends, friends, friends,” he wrote.
“And I’m happy about that, happy because I’ve done some good work as an actor and also given people multiple opportunities to make fun of my struggles on the world wide web.
“But when I die, in terms of my so-called achievements, it would be nice if friends were listed so far behind the things I’ve done to try to help others.
“I know it won’t happen, but it would be nice.”
The actor, who rose to fame as the sarcastic Chandler Bing on the popular 1990s sitcom, was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Saturday after emergency crews were called at around 4pm local time.
He had reportedly played a two-hour match of Pickleball, a sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court, earlier in the day, before sending his assistant on an errand. When they returned, Perry was reportedly found unresponsive in his hot tub.
Friends, which followed the lives of six twenty-something friends living in New York, was a smash hit worldwide when it aired between 1994 and 2004, and reruns of the show remain hugely popular years later.
In his personal life, Perry has never been married and ended his engagement to Molly Horowitz, a talent manager, in 2021. He also dated many famous actresses throughout his life, including Julia Roberts and Lizzy Caplan.

“People would be surprised to know that I’ve been mostly sober since 2001. Except for about sixty or seventy unfortunate incidents over the years,” he added.
The Los Angeles County coroner has listed Matthew Perry’s cause of death as “deferred,” pending the final results of toxicology tests.
Perry, 54, was found dead on Saturday in the hot tub of his home in Los Angeles.
On Sunday afternoon, the coroner released his body to the family, but said they had not yet determined the cause of death.
His assistant’s first emergency call was for a cardiac arrest.
The medical examiner’s office can release preliminary results within days, or it can take six to eight weeks for final results from toxicology tests.
