Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was a busy man during his time away from the sidelines last weekend due to suspension. Not only did he get to watch the game from home, but Harbaugh also had time to mow the lawn, take his kids to McDonald’s and enjoy being home.
If you’re wondering what a head coach who can’t be away from his team’s game does on game day, besides losing his mind, it looks like Harbaugh had the perfect Saturday. Not only did he take care of his team at UNLV, but he was able to attend his son’s game, while also getting a halftime meal at McDonald’s.
Yes, this would likely be a perfect Saturday for a guy who doesn’t run a Power-5 football program. But for Jim Harbaugh, trips to McDonald’s, while mowing the lawn before the game, were at the top of his list.
“You go to games and you have to ask parents to do something, or do some type of work,” Harbaugh noted about parental obligations. “Last week it was a Friday game and we were in charge of Gatorade and some snacks. This week they needed someone on the chains. It was good. We got to get closer to the field and watch the game. Our team needed a win and they played really well. We have a young star.” 24th and my son Jack played well. They did a great job, coaching the Ann Arbor Saints.
Pre-game, post-game grass cutting by Jim Harbaugh
OutKick’s Joe Kinsey would be proud of what Jim Harbaugh accomplished before and after the game, making sure his lawn was in top condition. After that, it was time to watch the game with his kids, while making a trip for a McDonald’s burger at halftime.
“Johnny, my six-year-old son, and Katie, my 12-year-old son, watched the game on TV,” Jim Harbaugh noted. “I cut the front lawn before the game and then I cut the back grass after the game. Good productive day. I think we forgot to eat, I forgot to feed them. Oh, at halftime we went to McDonald’s. At halftime we went to McDonald’s in Washtenaw.
If this doesn’t sound like the perfect college football game on Saturday, I don’t know how to help you. As for Jim Harbaugh, he’ll just get one more free Saturday before he goes back to work on the sidelines.
