Lauren, a registered nurse, and Nick, AThe architect held an elegant, contemporary celebration at the iconic Ritz-Carlton in Georgetown. Their theme, which they say is “modern sophistication,” is executed with the help of sleek black details and contemporary pampas grass arrangements. In fact, pampas grass was the driving force behind the couples’ unique wedding inspiration. According to Lauren, Mandy Moore’s wedding took place in California at the time she and Nick were trying to schedule a date and book a venue. Lauren fell in love with Mandy Moore’s famous trend-setting style (ahem, who remembers her super pink wedding dress?). Moore’s day also included a party filled with pink pampas grass, which Lauren knew she needed to use on her wedding day. “I may not be a pink girl, but I knew I wanted to base our wedding design around pampas grass,” she says. Flowers double as a personal touch to their big day since pampas grass grows wild on beaches. “Nick and me “I grew up vacationing in the Outer Banks, and I loved that it was also a place where we felt happy and at peace,” says the bride.

Along with their celebrity-inspired pampas grass arrangements, Lauren and Nick’s big day also included a unique wall display that changed three times throughout their celebration. “It all started with the idea of building a champagne wall for our guests to enjoy as they entered/exited our ceremony,” Lauren says. “We had so many favorites that we wanted to incorporate and surprise our guests throughout the evening.” But, given the limited space in their place, they had to get creative in order to include all of their “favorite things.” Thus, the “Our Favorites” wall was designed, featuring one wall used in several different ways throughout the evening. ““With the help of The Rosy Posy, our vision became a reality,” says Lauren.
