The artificial turf versus real turf argument remains a hot topic in the NFL.

Players have been vocal in recent years about opposing grass pitches, as there has been evidence of an increase in injuries playing on these surfaces. While the NFL has not taken any action yet to make a change, the NFL continues to call for the removal of artificial surfaces.

Recently, NFLPA Executive Director Lloyd Howell issued a statement asking the league to consider requiring each team’s facility to use real turf instead of turf. NFL teams keep responding by saying there’s not much difference in injuries on both sides, but players feel that’s not the case.

Not all teams in the NFL play on the same surface. It’s a 50-50 split on courts with grass and those without grass.
